I am so glad we started this sleep thing while she is still young. Olivia fussed for a little while going to bed last night, but it was because her pacifier would fall out. She would fall asleep, it would fall out, she would cry until we replaced it. This went on and on for probably a half hour. I then decided that she needs to learn to sleep without it or she may never sleep through the night! She fussed for no longer than 7 minutes and then proceeded to sleep 8 hours! Good job baby girl!!
I think we are going to have to do the same thing for naps too. I am doing the same thing for naps and she has been doing ok, but usually not sleeping too long (especially if her pacifier falls out) This morning she was tired and already ready for a nap (she did wake up at 5 am- yikes!) anyway I gave her the paci and she spit it out. I was then waiting the 7 minutes to go back and soothe her. At almost 7 minutes she started chatting to herself and within another couple of minutes she went to sleep! She has been sleeping for quite some time now so I am hoping that sleeping without a pacifier will help her sleep better. She has never been super attached to her paci, she normally only sucks on it when going to sleep and sometimes when riding in the car. Maybe we will just be breaking her of this habit early...
