back to work

It's official- I will be going back to work the night of January 27th. Yikes! It makes it more real to have an exact day even though it is still quite a bit a way. I don't "officially" have to go back until mid-February, but I think the end of January would make it time and I'm guessing I may have some mandatories I would need to do too since they have been slow while I've been away and I would have the least amount of hours (meaning 1st up) when I go back. They are doing better in the unit though so that is encouraging.

Anyway I will go back slowly which will be nice too. 1 night that week, then 2 nights the next week and then 3 in a row. She should have the schedule out in another week or so, so I will know my schedule through the end of February fairly soon!

It's been a while

Here are a few pictures from the last few days. Sorry I havent been posting too much- Olivia hasnt slept well the last couple days and is being a little more cranky when she is up. I think she was maybe tired with all her visitors and not getting the solid naps she usually gets. Hopefully it turns around in the next couple of days!

Looking a little confused yesterdays before Julie and Madeline left

Cousins in matching outfits. I think they like eachother huh!
In her christmas dress ready for Santa!

Picture we took before going to visit Santa.

John watching Olivia sit in her bumbo like a big girl.

I had more to add but my computer is acting up. Anyway I hope everyone is having a good Monday! Olivia just went back down for a nap. She woke up from her previosu nap VERY cranky- didn't want to eat or play. So she got changed, got a bath and I rocked her back to sleep. I hope all this sleep today doesn't mean no sleep tonight! She gets what she wants though... she obviously wanted to sleep some more!

8 weeks

Olivia, you are 8 weeks old today. (Friday November 27th)

* You are growing and changing more and more every day!

* You weigh 10.2 lbs (according to our bathroom scale)

* You are in size 1 diapers.
* You can still fit into most of your newborn clothes but they are getting snug in the length! You wore a 0-3 month pajama outfit to bed last night and your little hands got caught in the sleeves!

* You have slept through the night twice now. Not in a row but it gives us a nice little break. (Although we worry when we wake up and you haven't woken us up!)
* You are getting better at sleeping in your crib and falling asleep with your pacifier and glowing lullaby seahorse.

*You still love your activity mat and monkey "tv". I also catch you looking at yourself in the activity mat mirror and laughing!

* You love when we moves your legs like a bicycle. It makes you smile and laugh just about every time we do that!

* You are such a happy calm baby. You have your moments, but for the most part we are very very lucky!

*You like when daddy carries you in the baby bjorn.

*You have already had 2 of your first holidays- Halloween and Thanksgiving (yesterday!)

*You still love to lay on your changing mat and get your diaper changed (unless you are hungry!)

* You are so cute we just can hardly stand it!! Your hair is getting lighter and longer. I love to put little clips in it to make you look more girly!

*You have been nursing great since about 5 weeks which makes it MUCH easier on mommy. I didn't realize how much more work it was to make bottles in the middle of the night!

*You always have and still drink your bottles quickly. You also get frustrated if we take the bottle out of your mouth to burp you to early before you are done eating. You've only spit twice, which is good for us!

*We celebrated your farmor's birthday today since she was here visiting and you made her a special gift.

* You have 2 outfits that match your cousin Madeline now- an adidas track suit that you both wore today and your Christmas outfits!
* We love you more and more every day- we can't imagine life without you!

pictures from the day

I just love this picture I caught of her smiling in her 1st Thanksgiving outfit. So cute!!Some of the girls

Sister and cousins

Our little family

Best cousins!!

Just a few pictures from Olivia's first Thanksgiving. We had a fun day with lots of food. Very tiring though! It is almost 7 pm and Olivia is exhausted. She likes being held but I think it wears her out too! I was sad I couldnt see my mom but I will see all the Seattle relatives for Christmas! That should be fun!

Happy Thanksgiving!

We are so thankful for our sweet baby Olivia!

for farmor

This post is for Olivia's favorite farmor, Diane. :) Sitting up like a big girl in her bumbo!!

A special gift from one of Diane's friends at the Norwegian lodge- a Norwegian sweater and hat that she knitted!

Another very special gift from Norway. It is a cross necklace from Gunvor (not sure about the spelling) a relative in Norway. It was her necklace from her baptism almost 80 years ago! She had it specially engraved for Olivia!!

We bought this dress for Olivia the same day as the tree hugger onesie- the day we found out I was pregnant. It is a good thing she turned out to be a girl!

for mom

for my mom who checks the blog 15 times a day. :)

Olivia and I had a great day today. She was in a good mood and had some good naps. She got a bath mid morning and loved it. We were also able to run a couple errands since she was in such a good happy mood! She is currently swinging away in her swing and John is running around the house cleaning. I really need to go help him! Anyway these were taken the first part of the day, and then the pink outfit was later in the day- Jenny took them!

pictures from today

Here are some pictures from today. This is the onesie John and I bought the day I found out I was pregnant. I put a bow in her hair so you can tell she is a girl- otherwise her outfit would make her look like a boy! Anyway Olivia had quite the night last night- she screamed/cried for over 4 hours. She was probably upset because she hadn't gone to the bathroom. John took her the last 1.5 hours of her fussiness and she finally went potty. After he said he gave her a bath and she was asleep by midnight. Then she slept until 7 am! Pretty unbelievable. I woke up at 53o and stared at her wondering when she would get up. She was sleepy all day today too, took along nap in her crib which was nice! Anyway so far she is happy tonight but I'm a little nervous she is going to get worked up again tonight!

before her outfit change- happy on her mat!

Sunday, November 22, 2009

Here is Olivia yesterday in the outfit Julie and Madeline bought for her when she was born! It finally fits, although the pants are supposed to be tighter I think since they are leggings, but it looks SO cute! (especially with her little black bow in her hair!)

We woke up to a little snow this morning, but it looks like it is already melting at our house. John ran to the grocery store and said the roads were fine, then snow was pretty slushy since it wasn't too cold. Also it didn't accumulate too much- maybe an inch at our house? Anyway I think we are going to be lazy today and watch a movie. Olivia is sitting on the couch next to me with John. John rented a movie... maybe we can get a nap in! Probably not though....

Why hello there

Yikes!

for Madeline (7 weeks)

Here are a bunch of pictures for Madeline, who checks the blog every day after school! These pictures of her in the pink outfit on the mat are this morning, she has bed head! She is 7 weeks today! She is growing and getting more personality every day. She likes to kick her feet and breathe faster when she is excited and still needs help taking a nap. She gets cranky when she doesn't get one! She woke up about every 4 hours the last couple nights (once she actually was in a good sleep) So I think that means she is getting bigger and being able to eat more and last longer at night. I think she is turning into an early bird though because at night after eating she goes right back to sleep- but 7 to 8 am she doesn't she is done eating and looks around ready to start her day!
Below looks like she is getting mad about being on her tummy!

close up!

These are from last night, relaxing on the couch!

Have a good day!
