Chelan

This past weekend (labor day weekend) we went to Chelan to stay with John's grandparents at their condo in Chelan. The weather was absolutely perfect and the water in the lake was so clear! We had a wonderful time with grammy and grampy as Olivia calls them! Olivia was crazy about them. If either would walk out of the room- she would ask "where grammy go?" or vise versa. It was pretty cute!

The minute we got there, Audrey got some stickers out to put on the glass. Olivia loved "helping" put them on the glass!

After visiting for a few minutes, we decided to put on our swim suits and head down to the lake! Olivia liked the sand an the little waves! She also really liked the few ducks that were down there.

After a little while on the beach, we decided to go to the pool, where Olivia could really practice her swimming!

While Olivia napped, the guys headed down to the lake for a little swimming and relaxing.

They stayed down there for quite a lot time talking! I'm glad they had some alone time to hang out.

Once Olivia woke up from her nap, there was only one place she wanted to be!


After dinner that night, we took Olivia to the condo area playground. It wasn't particularly made for her age kids, but she still liked it! Climbed everything in sight!

I told Olivia we were going to the park the entire time we were on our walk, so I had to find a park to take her to so I wasn't a liar! We went to the elementary school and she was happy to play there for a little while! She is such a big girl climbing up the big wall!

Sunday afternoon we played a game while Olivia napped and then did some more swimming! John and I also took Olivia out for ice cream after swimming which was fun. Monday morning we had a nice breakfast together and Grampy showed Olivia how to suction cup a glass to her face. She didn't quite get it yet!

Then we headed to the park one last time before heading home. Olivia found a water bottle and was absolutely obsessed with filling it with rocks. She did use her shoe to fill it which we thought was quite inventive. No one showed her how, she just did it!

The guys went on a drive to look at a golf course while the girls stayed back. Olivia got a couple last popsicles eaten before we had to hit the road. She liked being "cozy" in her towel with grammy.

We had such a nice weekend I wish we could have stayed longer! Maybe next year... Olivia continues to say grammy and grampy are at the "lake". I know Olivia would like to go there more often and visit!

Seatle-Vashon 2011 FRIDAY

I am going to break up these posts because there are so may pictures I want to share of our 4 day trip to Seattle and Vashon a couple weeks ago! We had a lot of fun spending time with family and chasing Olivia around wherever we went! All of these pictures are from Friday. We arrived to town late Thursday so we could have the full day visiting relatives Friday. Ava came over before we left Friday morning and Olivia loved her!

Olivia of course also loved running up and down the street smelling flowers and looking at the pinwheels in gardens. She did stop for a little while to hold her farfar's hand!

Then we stopped at John's grandparents (grammy and grampy to Olivia) house on our way up to Marie's new house. This was the best shot I could get, Olivia is a bit too busy to stop for pictures!

But this was her most of the time we were there! Running, running, running.

Then we drove up to Marie's house in Lake Stevens. Olivia did some more running at her house! Running around the yard!

We spent a couple hours with Marie and Mike having lunch and then walking around their mall. On the way home to Ballard we stopped at the beach. It has changed a lot with a new play area and of course about 10 times more people than when we lived there! Olivia loved the beach most of all! Here she is trying to take her clothes off to get in the water.

After that, we met up with Julie and the kids for dinner, and then I took Madeline to the Glee movie. We had a lot of fun, but such a busy day!! Tomorrow we head to Vashon.

weekend

We just got home from a great week at lake Chelan with John's grandparents. We went to the pool a couple of times and Olivia and I watched daddy and Harry swim in the lake. We forgot our camera so we bought a disposable. Now I have to get it developed and see what turned out! Olivia stood up completely on her own several times at the lake but hasn't done it since. We all got to see her do it over and over though! I am thinking it was the texture of the grass that made her do it?

Olivia has also started saying mama quite often. John says she looks at me when she does it, but I have seen her look at him and say it too, so I am wondering if that is her word for both of us right now!

We went grocery shopping today and when she was smiling I saw a 2nd tooth popping through! I can't feel it but I can see it! It is right next to her other tooth.

I go back to work tomorrow. :( Days off go by way too fast. I will try to get those pictures developed and upload any cute ones!

strawberry festival

Here is my last post from our Vashon weekend. Saturday was the strawberry festival and the weather actually cooperated! It was chilly in the morning but the sunny and warm mid day. We were at the festival for about 4 hours and Olivia got tired out near the end. She ended up falling asleep in her stroller and in Olivia fashion, had a foot up on her bar while asleep.

Here are a few pictures from the last week and a half or so. It took me SO LONG to upload these, that I honestly don't have time to get all the picture up with posts. I will try as soon as I can though! I still have to get on the pictures my mom took and John's mom took too. We went to Seattle this past weekend and had such a great time! Some time on the island, some in Tacoma, and the rest in Ballard. We had a really nice relaxing 7 year anniversary. Spent the day at the zoo with Olivia (her 1st time!) as well as Diane and Marie, a little shopping later then dinner. We had a great time eating together, just the two of us, and talking about where all the time had gone and a little of what we want with our future. We ended that night off with a walk along the beach while the sun went down. Perfect!
