last night

Ahhhh we all slept SO good last night! I started keeping Olivia a little more awake yesterday and I think it worked out well! I hope it wasn't just a fluke, and that it actually is working! She fell asleep at 830 pm then didn't wake up again until 1230. She was back asleep at 115 am and then slept until 515 am! It was SO nice to have some sleep! She was back asleep again at 6 am so we went back to sleep until 8 am. I finally got her up around 845 am to start the day. She has been really good today too, but does get fussy when she decided it is time to sleep. She has been staying awake for 1- 1.5 hours after feeds. I'm hoping that is long enough for her to sleep well at night, but there isn't much I can do when she decides it's time to sleep!

On another note, I got her in the moby wrap yesterday and took her for her first walk outside. Amanda went with us, and we just walked to the mailbox. I didn't want to go too far since we had been out twice with me carrying her in her bucket and I didn't want to over do it!

Last night after eating, I decided she would have a bath! Her pediatrician said we don't have to be careful about her cord anymore, since it fell off- there is just a small scab left. She was in a good mood since she had eaten, and just sat there with a confused look on her face! You can see how cute her hair gets after her shampoo. I think we are going to start the nightly bath routine now.

Big busy day!

Loving her activity mat- tongue up in the roof of her mouth as usual!

My baby is 2 weeks old today! It is hard to believe time has gone by so fast... She still isn't on a great sleeping pattern- she was up at least every 1-2 hours last night! I am working on keeping her up more today and playing to see how tonight goes. Feeding is going better though- she only got about 1.5 oz of formula last night total (that isn't even 1 whole feed for her). Anyway today is also the day that I can officially start carrying her in her carseat since the c-section and we had errands to run, so that was good!

We started out this morning getting her labs drawn at the hospital for her newborn screening. We went after she had been fed and changed so she was in a decent mood. She was at least until she got poked in the foot! She screamed and wiggled like crazy during it- so sad! She also managed to get blood on her carseat since the bandaid didn't stick too well. That was too bad. :( Here she is on the way to the hospital.

After that I woke her up when we got home (she LOVES riding in the car! puts her to sleep every time...) and she ate some more and played for at least 1.5 hours until we had to leave for the pediatrician for her 2 week check-up. She was ready to take a little nap anyway, getting a bit fussy! I changed her outfit for this since I knew I would have to get her naked and didn't want a complicated outfit to change in and out of! She was pretty mellow at the appt. She is up to 7 lbs 11 oz and measures 21 inches! Her height is in the 77% while her weight is in the 30%. I don't know how John and I have a tall baby! Funny! The doctor said she is doing great and agreed on starting to keep her up a little more during the day so hopefully we all sleep better at night time. He also was very excited that we were able to wean on the formula amount.

Well that is pretty much our day so far today. Amanda is coming over soon and I need to take a quick shower before Olivia wakes up!
Here she is LOVING the rainforest thing I attached to her activity mat. It plays music and lights up with monkeys that move.

Above is a close up of her face while watching her monkey tv! too funny! I forgot to mention that I put on the moby wrap and carried her around the house while she was awake. Here is her funny picture while she was in it.And lastly, the baby legs aunt Julie got her. I think she needs to grow into them Julie!

Today

Well Olivia didn't sleep that well last night. We think she may have had a tummy ache because of the way she was acting. She did sleep for about 3 hours at the end of the night/early morning though and woke up in a good mood. Poor John was up with her around midnight until 2 am. I keep telling him I will take care of her, but apparently I completely slept through her crying at that time and he wanted me to sleep. He is the best! (unfortunately she was up again at 230 am until almost 4 and we just slept on the couch until 630 am)

Jenny and I got her activity mat out of the box yesterday and she seems to like it! I had her on her back for most the time and put her on her tummy for a couple minutes. She was very happy looking around at everything for at least 15 minutes!

Now she is asleep in my arms so I'm typing 1 handed. I hope she doesn't sleep too much today so she sleeps better at night- babies need a lot of sleep though!

photos are up!

Olivia's newborn photos are up on the website! They came out sooooo cute. You can go to ambergphoto.com and then enter site. After you click on clients, the pasword is pink all in lowercase letters.

I can't wait to order different prints, there are so many I like! She is also going to start doing announcements so we are going to have her do those too.

our first day alone together

We started out the day with Olivia in the vibrating chair (in the closet) while I took my shower. She was actually very happy the whole time!
The we got dressed in this cute outfit!
Time in the boppy watching tv with mommy

Big eyes looking everywhere

Falling asleep, big smiles!

Finally asleep.....

Nap time on mommy's shoulder. (it was a very short nap!)

Then Olivia got a little shampoo. Look at her curls!

Then daddy got home and took us for a drive to get out of the house. Olivia is wearing her hat from auntie Diane. I think the flower is as big as her head!

Daddy time with Olivia. Something was very funny on the tv!
Well that sums up our day. Olivia was very awake for a lot of the day with not many naps. I think the longest one was right when John came home from work. Unfortunately that means I didn't get any nap in with her after being up throughout the night. Hopefully tonight she will sleep well! Overall she was very happy though and really isn't any trouble to take care of. I think the hardest part was not being able to get out of the house/ the boredom! It will get better once we are able to get out once in a while. :)

Watching tv together 10/9/09

She is already seeming a lot bigger than she was last week. They really do grow up fast! We love spending time with her. It's been SO nice to have John home. He has spent a lot of good time with her.
p.s. for everyone who asked about the professional pictures. The photographer said that once she puts them up and gives me the password, anyone can access them that I give it to and can order their own prints. You can pay online (through paypal) or with a check. I also plan on buying the cd, so if you want cheaper pictures you can have them printed that way. I think hers are much better quality though than the ones printed at the store and she has many finish options. So if there are one or a just a few that you REALLY like I would suggest having them printed through her! :)

OMG

Just sitting here with Olivia trying to let John sleep since he let me sleep so well tonight. She is actually sleeping on me, but I'm scared to move because I know she will wake up! Looking through the different blogs I read trying to catch up.... and I see this. OMG.
